RULES FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS

1. Participants must be 18 or older from the start of the event.2. Participants can sign up for more than one role.3. Participants must join the event Discord server and be available via Discord (active participation in the server is not necessary, but you MUST be able to answer mods/partners in a timely manner)4. Participants must notify the mods if they haven’t received a reply from their partner(s) within 48 hours
of sending a new message.5. Participants must sign up with an email they are okay potentially sharing with other participants.6. Use of AI generative tools to assist the creation of fanworks is prohibited.7. Tools/tactics such as Glaze, Nightshade, locking works on AO3 to registered users, etc to protect works from AI scraping is encouraged.8. Participants must notify mods ASAP if they need an extension. Extensions will be granted in extenuating circumstances9. Participants can make fanworks for ANY Wei Wuxian ships.10. All fics will feature Wei Wuxian specifically topping his partners [fics rated E or M]. Corresponding artwork doesn’t need to be explicit.11. Participants can create works featuring any gender and/or sexuality expressions for Wei Wuxian (ex: genderbend; trans aus; bisexual, gay, ace interpretations etc) or BDSM dynamics (ex: Sub Top Wei Wuxian, Dom Top Wei Wuxian etc) as long as it is Top Wei Wuxian only.12. Participants can create dead dove content so long as it is properly warned during claims and in the posting period.13. No RPF. Crossovers with other fandoms are discouraged. Fusion AUs (eg; mdzs Star Wars au) are ok!14. Works must be posted on the assigned posting day unless there is an emergency. Failure to post on the assigned posting day may result in a ban from future events. Don’t leave your partners hanging!15. Dropping out will not result in a penalty under these two circumstances:A. Before claims: if a claims form or writing submission form is not submitted by the deadline, mods will assume you won’t be participating without penalty. You are free to continue chatting on the event server.B. During the creation period: if a mod is informed you need to drop out within a reasonable time before the posting date, you can drop out without penalty. Notifying a mod too soon before a posting date may result in a ban, at mods’ discretion.Extenuating circumstances include but are not limited to: natural disasters (fire/flood, etc), changes in physical/mental health, sudden change in employment or housing, death in the family.Regularly scheduled exams and school projects are NOT emergencies—please plan your lives accordingly!

RULES FOR ARTISTS

1. The following mediums can be submitted — illustration (digital or traditional) Fanvid, Gifset, and graphic.2. Non-explicit art can be posted, but keep in mind the associated fic will be NSFW (not safe for work) and feature Top Wei Wuxian3. Artists must check writer submissions carefully and only claim stories with ships/tropes/settings they are comfortable depicting.4. Artists must check writer “do not wants” carefully during the claims period and are expected to be conscious of them when talking to their writer and creating the artwork for their assigned fic.5. Artists should be mindful of the level of communication the writer wants.Minimum Art RequirementsDigital Art and Scanned Traditional Art— At least 500 px wide, height and dpi (ppi) is up to the artist but print resolution is recommended.— Clean sketch and/or flats, depending on the artist's style.— Art can be touched up over the course of the fic creation period, but should be in a postable state upon submission for claims.— Other forms of art (gifsets and fanvids) are also welcome. Please speak to a mod about
the minimum requirements for these mediums.

RULES FOR WRITERS

1. All fics must be a minimum of 3k words.2. All fics must be complete upon posting, even multi-chaptered works (all chapters posted on the same day).3. All fics must function as a standalone—and be original for this bang. If the fic is part of a series, it must be the first installment of a series and must be able to read as a standalone.4. All fics must specifically feature Wei Wuxian topping his partner(s). Fics can feature any Wei Wuxian pairings, including poly ships.5. All fics must either be M or E rated.6. We encourage writers to have their fics beta read for SPAG (spelling and grammar) at minimum for posting. Betas will not be formally matched by mods, but betas can sign up for this event. Writers should use the find-a-beta channel in the server to connect with one, or they can ask a friend who isn’t participating in the event.7. Writers and artists should be in agreement on how to share the artwork with the fic.
Writers should consult their artist before reposting/embedding.8. No additional art can be commissioned for fics created during this event until after 1 year of posting. Please consult your artist before commissioning work from a different person. Give them the right of first refusal.

RULES FOR BETAS

1. Beta readers will not be formally assigned by mods. and will make their own arrangements to connect with writers in the event server.2. Beta readers should respond to writers within a 48 hours window, even if they can’t provide feedback right away.3. Beta readers must not rewrite passages in their own style unless given explicit permission to do so.4. Beta readers should provide at minimum a spelling and grammar check (SPAG) before the fic is posted.5. Beta readers must let writers know if they are comfortable doing additional beta reading (helping with plot, worldbuilding, etc)6. Beta readers must be mindful of which ships/tropes/canon they are willing to beta read for and ask the writer questions to determine if their fic is a good fit for them.7. Beta readers must let the writer know if they are unable to provide the feedback they are asking for ASAP so the writer can make other arrangements.

Q: What’s a mini bang?A: A mini bang is an event where writers submit a short story pitch and artists create art based on the artwork they have been assigned.Q: Do writers have to submit the complete fic before the submission deadline?A: You only need to submit a short summary before the submission deadline.Q: How do artists get assigned artwork?A: Writers will submit their story pitches during the writing submission period. After that period closes, mods will create a gallery featuring the story summaries, along with any notes the writers left (ex: what ship the story is for, what setting, what tropes, etc). Artists will select a number of fics they’d like to create art for. Mods will match artists and writers based on the choices submitted by artists.Q: Will writers be assigned beta readers?A: No. Betas will not be formally matched by mods, but betas can sign up and join the event server. Writers should use the find-a-beta channel in the server to connect with a beta reader, or they can ask a friend who isn’t participating in the event. We encourage writers to have their fic read by someone for SPAG (spelling and grammar) before posting.Q: Is this a Wangxian only event?A: No! Any pairing including Wei Wuxian is allowed for this event. This includes Wei Wuxian in any ship from couple to throuple to the polycule of your dreams!Q: Is there any content not allowed in this event?A: RPF is not allowed for this event. All dead dove content must be properly tagged. AUs are okay, but crossover fiction is discouraged.Q: When can I join the Discord server?A. The Discord link will be emailed after you sign up! This is a manual process and will be done in batches by mods. Please wait at least 24 hours after signing up before inquiring.Q: Can I sign up for more than one role?A: Yes!
